Disabled Writers

Howdy, howdy! How’s everyone doing this wonderful Wednesday? Things here are okay so far. I’m not hearing good things about this administration and their disability policies. But I haven’t taken the time to do a deep dive to see what’s real and what’s panic/fearmongering, so I’m not going to freak out yet. Anyway, I’m still waiting for the wheelchair and for Medicaid to review my poorness, so I don’t have anything new to ramble about. However, since it’s still Disability Pride Month, I decided to make a list of books by disabled authors. These are not books I’ve read because I never actually intentionally looked for books by disabled writers, so I have missed a lot. Shame on me. But they have been added to my TBR list!

1. Hunchback by Saou Ichikawa.

2. Sipping Dom Pérignon Through a Straw: Reimagining Success as a Disabled Achiever by Eddie Ndopu.

3. Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke.

4. Year of the Tiger: An Activist’s Life by Alice Wong.

5. Game Changer by Rachel Reid.

  1. Yes, this administration is not consistent with their messaging. They just called Spain, ““hopeless,” “a wasted cause,” and “bad people,” while threatening to cut off all trade. Then they are canvorting around with the Spanish football team like they friends. It was this way the 1st run around too. Not to mention the constantly changed messaging and actions with Persia, which has turned into a fiasco for the world and our economy. Just don’t buy the bitcoin haha

      1. Exactly! They act like 5 year olds and if anyone else acted this way, they would be disciplined to face the consequences or lose their power. Media allows it to happen too. It’s pathetic. Like riding in a runaway bus with a madman at the wheel, destroying everything that generations before worked so hard to create. Why exploding diarrhea is happening (cuts to FDA etc.). The Strait of Hormuz was open and now it is closed with no agreement in operation. We have regressed, gone backwards as a society. They can’t even play fascist correctly too. Not that anyone wants that. Total amateurs. Even destroyed our military by removing legions of academy officers in generalship.
